Look Five: Boho Chic

The second I was done putting together this outfit, I felt instantly and strongly connected with my inner flower-child, no lying, how we dress does influence how we feel, in a major way.

I've always loved the bohemian looks which incorporate maxis in their ensembles, so I paired up my floral kimono with my good ol' maxi skirt, which I wore here and black crop top which I wore here. My headpiece is a simple D.I.Y,  I created it using two chains and a necklace pendant.

I was talking to my friend Martin, over the phone, this past weekend and somewhere along our conversation I told him how I rarely go out at night... I know, I know, the outfit on my last entry says otherwise, because let's face it, it's quite ideal for hitting the club haha! But no.

Actually, a lot of my close friends in campus often get frustrated with me, because I always, either say no to tagging along with them for night outs or back out last minute. To set the record straight, I have absolutely nothing against going out, drinking and socializing, in fact, when I was 18 years old, 19 too, I went clubbing/ turned up a few times, but honestly never liked it very much. What can I say? Night outs just don't appeal to me.

Look Four: Playing With Prints

Lately I've been having this overwhelming desire to just have fun with my look, my image, my persona through clothes. I want to take full advantage of the fact that I'm in my early twenties and experiment with fashion as much as possible without caring about my previous definitions of style

So in spirit of my new found... Desire, I decided to mix prints/patterns, soooo I paired up my floral kimono with my leopard print crop top and stripped skirt!!!

Here's the thing, It's been a minute since I created a mixed print ensemble... If my outfit looks like a hot mess to you, please don't drop me a comment asking, "did you dress in the dark?" ... Thank yoooou! :-)

Maybe you've heard of this before? Allow me to bore you by saying it again, if you have ha! I kid! Here goes; how you begin your morning often sets the tone and your attitude for the day. Do the words in bold speak to you? Because, whoa! They resonate with me in a profound way.

In six months I'll be turning 22 and to tell you the truth, I'm freaking out!!! As much as I'm grateful and as much as I feel blessed to be who I am and where I am right now, there's this side of me that is not satisfied and happy with my current situation, I mean, if I was asked to list my accomplishments in life so far, I wouldn't know where to begin, I'd probably go mute or list less than five things, which makes me feel... Not good, not good at all.

I'm sharing this with you because, hey! I can't be the only one going through quarter life crisis haha!
One big lesson I've learnt today is, it's important that I take a look at myself and reevaluate my goals, priorities too, as often as I can in order to achieve the goals I've created and in turn bring the positive change I so much desire closer into my life.
I really do hope I master to put a plan of action into existence on a daily basis, which takes me back to the words in bold.

Look Three: Lady In Red

Whenever I wear this dress I remember Valentines Day and the fact that I'm always "bae-less" on Valentines Day. On a serious note, at what time do people board the bae train? It always leaves me behind! Lol! Despite what it brings to mind, I love this red dress of mine, It always makes a style statement and perks me up.

It’s vital to have a morning routine that sets you up for success, try your best to start each day on a high note, have a trick maybe or habit in your morning routine that sets your day off right. I believe an effective morning routine can transform your outlook and make an epic difference in your life.

It resonated with me

The way David Beckham is gorgeous should be outright illegal. A few days ago, I watched this mini photoshoot/ interview he had with F TV and I honestly haven't, for the life of me, I have not been able to get him off of my mind... Ladies do you feel my struggle? And the fact that he speaks in a British accent makes everything even worse.

It just hit me that I didn't explain my absence from last month into this month in my previous post. To tell you the truth, I'm super busy with my internship, that is the only reason behind me not posting regularly on here. I want to big up all you people who have been in the 9-5 jobs for years now and are still sane, don't know how you do it.

By the way, I'm pretty active on Instagram, aside from this little space, IG is definitely my best avenue of communication, so to keep up with my "Instawammies" follow me @yvonnewaluvengo and I'll follow right back!

Look Two: A Short Story 

Or should I say a short colourful story? I am a huge fan of shorts and whenever I go shopping and come across them, I mostly end up buying one. I was actually thinking of wearing short-shorts at first, but opted for the ones I have on because I was going out to run a few errands in town and didn't want to faint/ fall and die from all the stare I would definitely get due to wearing "something skimpy"... For those who reside in uptown Nairobi and for my readers outside Kenya who live in societies which don't mind you wearing whatever you want, go for it, short-shorts look really good paired up with the kimono.
