Something is missing
Can you feel it?
The emptiness...
Sure
All the pieces
Of the puzzle
Are where they belong
We came out victorious
The battles and wars
We won
The struggle is over
Our paths are brighter
The gods
Are on our side
Our wishes
Their command
Don't we have it all?
Is this not
Our apotheosis...
What is missing
Why the emptiness
Why the unsatisfactory
Why the desire
Of the unknown....

Land of dust and dreams
Dark starless skies
And shallow streams
A world full of true liesHe lives in a delusion of grander
His shanty is a castle
Royal in his eyes
'How melodious'
The cacophony from the market
Is music to his ears
He collects precious stones
From the gutter
His sack is almost full
He is conceited...
I dusted my dreams
Reached for the stars
And swam across streams
A foray that left my heart with scars
I dusted my dreams
But I am living a lie
I envy his dementia
In my eyes it is divine
I dusted my dreams
But I am living a lie
I envy his dementia
In my eyes it is divine
It is an imaginary world
A place beyond and within
Where burdens are lifted
Broken hearts are mended
Painful memories are shattered
Every wish is fulfilled
The noose of death is undone
Foe souls bury the hatchet
Heavens door is left ajar
Wild dreams come to life
Paradiise becomes a reality
The holy grail is found
Listen to the voiceless voices
Embrace the shadows unseen
Follow the beckoning rainbow light
Open the window of your eyes
Everything sparkles with affluence
Waterfalls of falling diamonds
Sidewalks of silver and gold
Bridges of rubies and pearl
Forever the sun shines
Rivers never run dry
Flowers do not grow old
And butterflies fly away not

Hi there! Welcome to my blog! This is my first post, I am so excited that I am finally a blogger, I always wanted to be one but I was in high-school then, a boarding school mind you :-) blogging would be next to impossible, right? I am now a proud Kenyan citizen and will be joining campus in a few weeks, yippee! :-D I decided to post this poem as my first post because I am so proud of it, It appeared in the Sunday Nation newspaper.
