WANDERLUST IN UTOPIA

By Yvonne Waluvengo - May 10, 2012

It is an imaginary world
A place beyond and within

Where burdens are lifted
Broken hearts are mended
Painful memories are shattered
Every wish is fulfilled

The noose of death is undone
Foe souls bury the hatchet
Heavens door is left ajar
Wild dreams come to life

Paradiise becomes a reality
The holy grail is found

Listen to the voiceless voices
Embrace the shadows unseen
Follow the beckoning rainbow light
Open the window of your eyes

Everything sparkles with affluence
Waterfalls of falling diamonds
Sidewalks of silver and gold
Bridges of rubies and pearl

Forever the sun shines
Rivers never run dry
Flowers do not grow old
And butterflies fly away not

Poets Note:

Hi there! Welcome to my blog! This is my first post, I am so excited that I am finally a blogger, I always wanted to be one but I was in high-school then, a boarding school mind you :-) blogging would be next to impossible, right? I am now a proud Kenyan citizen and will be joining campus in a few weeks, yippee! :-D I decided to post this poem as my first post because I am so proud of it, It appeared in the Sunday Nation newspaper.

My poem appeared in the Sunday Nation newspaper (Buzz Magazine) on March 18, 2012
