Imperfectly Impeccable

By Yvonne Waluvengo - June 17, 2013

I see them walk with a past they thought they left behind
I see them trying to be perfect, the imperfections they hide
I see them lose sight, what they hear making them go blind
I see them because within me there is a piece of them inside
I see them
I see a woman
She keeps going, where she is going she has no clue
She smile even when her world is turning blue
I see a woman and like her I want to smile too
I see a woman but I would not want to walk in her shoe

I am a woman, what I want is to be different
I want to make mistakes and be glad that I made them
I want to be respected even with imperfections
I want to listen to myself and hear the song of my dream

I see them
I see myself
I see a woman
A woman, imperfectly impeccable.

Poets Note:

Hi y'all! It's been a while since I shared my poetry, this is a piece I got from my archives... I wrote it sometime last year, in September. What do you think of it? Let me know, leave a comment below.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
