Below A Whisper {2}

By Yvonne Waluvengo - July 17, 2013

You say this is wrong
Why then does it feel right
You slam my door and leave
Why then do you always come back

Why do I feel an emptiness when you are gone
Why does my heart race when someone mentions your name
Why do I long for your knock on my door
Why do I let you in over and over again

Why do you let me kiss you the way I do
Why do you let me touch you the way I do
Why do you let me uncover your nude
Why do you let me own you the way I do

Why do we say to each other
But below a whisper... 'I love you'
Why don't we fight for this love
This love the world does not accept.

Poets Note;

Hi everyone! Welcome to another edition of "Poetry Wednesday". I'm hoping your week is going great, mine is... "Just there" ha huh!

Here's another sapphic poem, unlike in Below A Whisper {1} where I used the third person point of view in writing, here I used the second person point of view, mainly, in order to make you, the reader, understand the persona more.

See, I use poetry to express my thoughts on different issues and my perspective on things that go on in our world today. I believe that before you judge someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes,yeah, but then again, your feet may be bigger than theirs or smaller... None of us can really know what it feels like to be anyone else, right?

As I was writing Below A Whisper {1} and {2}, I put myself in the shoes of a woman who loves a woman, that's the beauty of poetry I think, you get to become anyone or anything you like in your imagination and through that, you get to understand someone who was like you, in your imagination, in reality.

Thanks for stopping by! Welcome again :-)
