Currently, one of the major fashion trends for men is tailored shorts and shorts suits.

Why did I choose to write about this trend? Well, for one, it is a trend that can work successfully for any man, two, I think it is an awesome trend and I have to admit... I heart men in shorts!!! :-)


A number of things should be considered before attempting to rock a short suit :-

> Where you work

Though it has been argued that tailored shorts suits can be worn at all sorts of occasion, the short suit cannot really be compared to a normal suit. It is much more directional and therefore not entirely appropriate for every situation where a suit is worn.

> How confident you appear and feel

If you are planning to take on this trend, ensure that you find a way to complement it with your personal style, in order to be comfortable and in turn bring out a confident appearance.

> What the weather is like

It's only logical to wear tailored shorts or shorts suits on a warm day/ sunny day 

>What your legs look like (On a lighter note)

If your legs ain't pretty... Boy! Forget about this trend! No! Seriously! Hahahahahahaha!


The key to pulling off this look successfully is to dress tailored shorts down, not up. Pair them up with smart-casual pieces such as oxford shirts, polos and slim-fit knitwear.

Make sure your tailored shorts fit well, especially at the waist (they should be able to be worn without a belt) and they closely follow the lines of your thighs, stopping an inch or two above the knee.

If you are willing to try out  this trend, whether you opt for timeless neutral shorts or more striky, standout colors/ patterns it is completely up to you. I personally feel though, that you don't necessarily have to play safe by utilizing matching pieces, dare a more striking, forward-thinking look, mix and match your existing separates to create appropriate outfit for the weekend or holidaying.

Braids are the greatest invention of man... Weeeeeell maybe not the greatest but, they look good, are easy to take care of, are low maintenance and they help hair grow (fast)

It's the first time I have braided my hair this year. The longest I have ever left in extension braids is a month, this time round though, I want to stay with them for two months.

I decided to braid my hair because I will be very busy this month and next month with reviving my business. I am planning to put all my focus on designing and creating new stuff for my label soooooo I just want to take a break from thinking about my hair.

I use only two products,besides shampoo and conditioner, when I've got my braids on

Having braids on lightens the job of taking care of your hair and scalp but you still need to take precious care of your hair and scalp. Here are some tips for maintaining your braids and your hair in braids

• Use braid spray and light oil daily to keep them moist and prevent an itchy scalp

• Massage your scalp, it will increase blood flow, which in turn, speeds hair growth

• If your hair is relaxed, wait 3-4 weeks and deep condition a few times before you get braids put in

• Wash your hair, don't shy away from washing your braided hair, it is essential for the well being of your hair and scalp. You can wash your hair once every two weeks to avoid build up and a clogged scalp.

• Sleep with a silk or satin scarf tied around your  braids at night to keep them smooth, frizz and lint free.

• Don't use sprays that have a drying ingredient

• Don't wear super tight braids, they can destroy your hair line

• Never wear braids longer than 6-8 months
