My Dream, A Beautiful Lie

By Yvonne Waluvengo - April 21, 2013

Sweet sleep whispers in my ear
I close my eyes and float
To a world where ecstasy is cavalier
To a dream, my dream, a beautiful lie

In my dream I fly
Into space and reach the moon
Like a butterfly out of its cocoon
With heavenly wings I fly

In my dream I dance
Hypnotized by an angels serenade
On a platform made of stars
With a ballerinas grace I dance

In my dream I play
Outside the ethereal gates of paradise
Skipping along the milky way
With a toddlers spirit I play

Poets Note:

Hallo there! I hope you enjoyed reading this poem, I wrote it a while back but was too lazy occupied with other stuff to post it. I am spending my weekend making earrings, I'll post some pictures of them soon and catching up with friends on Twitter and Facebook. How are you spending your weekend? Let me know, plus your thoughts on this poem. Thanks for stopping by! :-)

  3. The piece is great, though I felt it lacked the conclusory aspect.

    1. Thank you for your comment Nicko!

Poetry comes with a lot of freedom and therefore it gives poets an ability to come up with unique and new ways of writing. This poem is a dream so I felt I should leave out a conclusive stanza or as you put it a "conclusory aspect" because dreams always leave us with a "what happens next" question. I hope you will be satisfied with the explanation I have given. Welcome again!
