Self-Loathing

By Yvonne Waluvengo - April 10, 2013

It's the feeling you get
In the dead of the night
When you recognize them
Because you created them
Phantoms... Phantoms that haunt you
Driving you into utter insanity

It's the feeling you get
As you travel east to west
Across oceans and seas
Rummaging through hearts of the world
Futile your quest to find genuine affection
Yet, you crushed a soul that once adored you

It's the feeling you get
When your knees are too weak
To make you stand, to make you walk
Your power like ancient walls crumble
And you choose to live in a delusion of grandeur
In the fleeting shadow of yesterday's might

It's the feeling you get
Looking at the horizon
Watching your sun set
Uncertain if you will see the rise of  it
You wish the wrinkles on your face fade
In despair you hope to go back in time

Poets Note;

Hallo lovely reader! :-) I wrote this poem today, just a few hours from now. I have been chilling in the house alone and studying for my last papers, I only got two papers to go! Yippee! *rolling on the carpet, laughing* Anyway, I get really inspired when I am in a quiet, peaceful environment, fortunately, I got to enjoy that kind of environment today.

My apologies if you were anticipating to see a different post, I know I posted on my Facebook page that I would share my new hairstyle today, it's actually a simple hair-do, box braids, I'll miss my wash-and-go hairstyle :-( but not to worry I am planning to stay with the braids for one or two months. Goodbye for now!

Thank you for stopping by!
XoXo :-).
