Clean & Clear {New In + Product Review}

By Yvonne Waluvengo - October 24, 2015

Your weekend's going great? I hope it is!

This is a quick post, I wanted to share with you my take on two facial products I recently purchased.

I''ve been having these breakouts lately, I don't know why and no, it's not that time of the month. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with a little stress here and there, pressure to meet deadlines at school, maybe. Anyway, I find the zits and pimples so freaking annoying! I mean, who doesn't?

About a week ago I picked up Clean & Clear Essential Foaming Facial Wash and Blackhead Clearing Bar Soap from Nakumatt Supermarket, due to the simple fact that a few of the products I have been using for my facial skincare routine are obviously not working for me anymore.

Let's begin with the facial wash...

Clean & Clear Essentials Foaming Facial Wash

My Experience:

I absolutely love this facial wash!!! It's one of those products you hold and admire in your hand and you say to it, "you sexy thing! Where have you been all my life?!"

The very first time I used the face wash, my face looked and felt so much better in the morning after using it at night. I only used a pea size by the way and it foamed and lathered surprisingly well, left my face feeling clean clean... Yes I added an extra "clean" on purpose haha!

I found it quite drying though, so after patting my face dry using a towel, I did apply my toner (Rosewater) followed by my Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream.

I would absolutely not recommend this product to a person who has dry skin, in fact if you've got dry skin, just avoid it like a plague, okay? Consider yourself warned. To people with oily and combination skin like myself though, you can totally give it a go, more likely than not, you'll end up loving it!

Price: Kshs. 770

Content: 100ml

Packaging:  Hygienic, squeezable, clear orange bottle with purple top cap.  Informative water-proof label sticker printed with ingredients list, manufacturing place and date, and expiration date. Thumbs up for the packaging!

 Scent: Medical and Carroty... It totally smells like carrots to me sometimes.

Availability: Nakumatt Supermarket {I'm not certain if other supermarkets stock it, but I was at Naivas like 3 days ago and I didn't spot it anywhere}

Active Ingredients:  o-cymen-5-ol (antibacterial ingredient), glycerin (moisturization, water retention, anti-bacterial), lauric acid (anti-viral and anti-microbial properties, moisturization)

My verdict:

I'll continue using this product over and over again, because it loves me and I love it too. It works great when it comes to removing my light makeup, has significantly helped with the pimples, it's affordable and I literally use a teeny-weeny amount of it to get the results I need.

Blackhead Clearing Bar Soap

My Experience:

This is definitely an awesome facial soap and I wish I had started using it a long time ago. I use it only in the morning, plus I think it works really well with the facial wash which I use at night.

It's got these microbeads too which help in exfoliating, so it actually saves me from using my facial scrub everyday as I used to previously. Score!

Price: Kshs. 190

Availability: Nakumatt Supermarket (I'm sure I've spotted it at other supermarkets too)

Content: 75g

Ingredients: [PR-013296]- Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Aqua, Parfum, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Palm Kernel Acid, Sodium Chloride, Titanium Dioxide, Polyethylene, Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, CI 17200, CI 42090.

My Verdict:

I like products which deliver exactly what is written on their packages, so yes, I love this particular product as well and will definitely buy it again.
