Hi! Hope you are doing great!
I thought I would share my skincare routine today.
My skin type is combination, some parts are oily, some parts are normal and I suffer from hyperpigmentation.
Hopefully the tips i'll drop will assist someone out there.
I follow 5 simple steps in the morning:-
- Cleanse
- Exfoliate
- Tone
- Serum
- Moisturize
1. Cleanse
I use a very gentle cleanser; Medimix Ayurvedic Anti-pimple Facewash
It contains neem, aloe vera, turmeric and some other Indian herbs that are good for the health and complexion of the skin.
I use a silicone facial cleansing brush to assist in cleansing my face, that blue scrubby thingy you see pictured!
I prefer the silicone bristle brush because unlike brushes with nylon bristles, it is non-porous, meaning it's resistant to bacterial buildup and thus more hygienic.
It built with three different structure of bristles to ensure a gentle but deep skin and pore cleanse.
2. Exfoliate
It's not advisable to exfoliate daily, but the face scrub I use is super gentle, barely abrasive, so it can be used daily.
It's from Medimix as well, I just love Medimix products!!!
3. Tone
I use a hyaluronic acid toner. Hyaluronic Acid is crucial to the moisture and elasticity of our skin and as I get older I notice I'm obsessed with products that have HA... Hey! We all want to age gracefully, no one wants saggy skin.
Hyaluronic acid also smoothes the texture of the skin, I suffer from textured skin, but this toner has been helping me combat that, every time I use it I can see and feel a difference.
4. Serum
I use a Vitamin C serum. I believe any serum that is high in antioxidants is great if you suffer from hyperpigmentation, it will help brighten your skin,
5. Moisturize
After applying my serum I go in with my moisturizer. The moisturizer I use is by Clear Essence, it is meant for people of color, corrects dark spots, acne scars and sun damage. It helps a lot if you suffer from hyperpigmentation as well
I also remember my lips, the lip-balm I am currently using is a mint flavored one by Malibu Lipcare.
In case you are in Kenya, and need to purchase any of the products mentioned, below are links to shop online:-
